A little Jodeci never hurt anyone.
Freddie Gibbs’ “Neighborhood Hoez” is definitely one of my favorites from his latest project, Cold Day In Hell. The track, which originally featured CTE’s JW instead of 2 Chainz, shares the same sample as another favorite of mine: Chip Tha Ripper’s DJ Mano-produced “Ain’t No Love Here”. Jodeci’s “What About Us” was definitely given a bit of new life thanks to these two tracks.
Of course, I’ve included all of the joints mentioned for you to listen to yourself. Which joint are you feeling more? Sound off, people.

Freddie Gibbs feat. 2 Chainz – “Neighborhood Hoez”
Chip Tha Ripper – “Ain’t No Love Here”
the actual inspiration for Freddie’s song was this classic Three 6 Mafia song…

Word.
The beat is is sampling Jodeci…but the concept and context borrows from Three 6 Mafia’s “Neighborhood Hoe” from 1997.

It’s great to read something that’s both enjoyable and provides pagrmtiasdc solutions.
Once upon a time Freddie and I were driving around in the 95 red volvo…..
Gibbs: “Do you have Neighborhood hoez in the disc changer?”
Me: “That’s crazy… it’s right here. i just put it on this mix cd we’re listening to… after the Mr. Mike song”
Gibbs: “I need that instrumental”
Me: “It doesn’t exist…i’ve been looking for years… i bet Speakerbomb would kill that sample”

Word!
I was only making mention of the same sample being used. I definitely wasn’t attempting to compare the concepts or context. That’s crazy. Appreciate the heads up!
