Trend Watch: Artists Drawing Pictures of Chicago Rappers

Posted on March 28, 2012 by Andrew Barber

At FSD, we always try to stay on top of the latest trends and happenings in Chicago, the Midwest and online. The old saying is that trends are measured in threes; so I think the recent surge of artists drawing pictures of Chicago rappers would constitute as a trend, right?

Over the past few weeks, drawings of Lil Durk, Chief Keef, DJ Kenn and others have hit Twitter, the web and my inbox. My guess is that since most of these artists are younger (under 25), high school kids have taken to drawing these pictures during their art classes. Have you witnessed this trend? Have you drawn a picture of your favorite Chicago rapper? If so, please do share. If you see something, say something. Hit the jump for more shots, and keep an open eye.
