FSD Beats sets out to build awareness of Chicago’s top up-and-coming producers — something we have an abundance of. No need to seek other cities for your sound — we have the cream of the crop right here.
We’ll be offering up new instrumentals from rising producers weekly — free of charge — for you to rock over (and so you’ll stop rapping over “3Hunna”). If you like what you hear, please reach out to the beat smiths to inquire about how you can work with them in the future. Got it? Utilization is key.
Hailing from Gary, IN, Jesse Black has worked with an impressive lineup of artists, including Malik Yusef, Twista, Chamillionaire, Fitz Fonzarelli, Soope and Neak. He’s even taken his talents to primetime having composed musical scores for ESPN, BET, Big 10 Network, and E! Daily 10 Hollywood Rap Up.
Besides producing, Jesse is also the owner, and chief engineer for Fakulty Studios in Merrillville, IN. Fakulty Studios is not only a sanctuary for local MCs to rhyme, but also serves as an production publishing company; which is home of seven producers, two engineers and one DJ. Jesse got his big break in the industry being mentored by Chicago icon The Legendary Traxster, and is currently signed to his Traxter Inc. label. Jesse has recently partnered with Universal Music Group, where his production team is currently working on placements. Locally, he’s working on fellow Gary native G-Scott’s upcoming project 1983. He is also putting the finishing touches on his in-house compilation entitled Fakulty Studios Presents: Home Room. You can look for that in the near future.
But today we have a freebie beat that he’s offering up for the FSD readers. Enjoy.
