Identifying with the youth has never been an easy task. The communication gap between kids, teens and adults has always been a struggle — especially when kids and teens see the administrators as disciplinary figures and not so much friends or mentors who are out to help them succeed.
One teacher has taken the “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em” approach to heart, and has brought Chief Keef into the classroom for the new school year. The video is grainy and somewhat hard to follow, but from the looks of the syllabus and worksheet, it appears his “I Don’t Like” has become a topic of classroom conversation. Is this tactic cutting edge? You bet the judge.
wow… so stupid.
I don’t see nothing wrong with it if you’re at least trying to build a connection between yourself and your students.
It’s like the teacher used Snoop Dogg lyrics to teach kids about poetry in the 90s. They made a movie about it called Dangerous Minds, but Hollywood sold out and changed it to Bob Dylan lyrics. Booo.
check dis nigga out from the northside of chicago named kenben look him on youtube

There’s no hope anymore. These kids can’t be helped. The white man has officially won. Black kids love to be stupid and violent. They love to spend their only money on shoes, fake eyelashes, fake hair, chains and bottles of dessert wine. I’ve got to hand it to the white man, he was was able to convince the majority of black youth that it’s cool to be “hood”, “thugged out”, “gangsta” and all that dumb shit the white man created for the black man. Meanwhile, the white man’s children are reading Nietzsche and listening to Edvard Grieg, joining debate teams, and playing the classical piano while having college savings accounts and trusts.
If Chief Keef walks into a black classroom, the black kids will be excited and try to imitate the piece of shit who stands before them. If Keef walks into a white classroom the white kids will be disgusted and shocked. The more liberal white kids will sorry for him and try to counsel him. The white kids will make this determination based solely on Keef’s appearance. It is not being biased because Keef is as dumb as he looks. If the white kids actually see the videos Keef has made they will vomit. The racist white kids will feel justified in their beliefs and the liberal kids will try to explain how Keef ended up like he did.
This is why the average white household net worth is $110,000 and for blacks it is $5,000.
yup! Keep going…
LMFAO
The “teacher” in this class doesn’t look like a “white man”…. I’m not positive, but I don’t think any schools in the suburbs are studying chief keef lyrics.
@HU Shut the fuck up. More whining, complaining, and blaming the white man for “black community problems”. How come the ones who see through the facade keep straight and eventually end up in college, doing better. It takes more than finger pointing to get yourself out of a terrible situation
@ DEEZ NUTS
I’m not sure why you’re cursing at me and then advancing my point. Yes, those who are able to see through the white man’s facade will do just fine. And yes, at this point the black man has taken on the whole facade and the white man doesn’t even have to do add to it anymore. i.e. minstrel shows, Homeboys from Outer Space, Soulja Boy, Chief Keef. So, I would agree that finger pointing towards the whites won’t help. Keef is as fucked up as he is due in large part to historic problems and black kids see him as a positive thing because of historic issues. It takes generations of oppression to want to tattoo your neck and twist your fingers in some shitty video while talking about hoes and “getting money” while not having a bank account.
when i was in high school i got put into a special college level literature class cause i was a beast at that shit…well long story short our teacher had us interpret eminem’s lyrics. My point is…Eminems shit is deep ..not hating on dude but keef’s lyrics don’t really have hidden meaning etc, so not sure how this is going to help kids.
I saw Yung Buk of Psycho drama once give a speech to some school children, but even that the was kinda educational because he was teaching proper rhyme structure/timing. Stuff you learn in a Shakespeare college coarse. But they got Cheif Keef?!! What, was 50 Tyson too busy? lol
C’mon yall remember keef is only a kid himself! speaking from a young mind and limited experience, mostly negative no doubt and influenced by media! @HU i know you gotta be grown as hell! and calling this lil kid “DUMB” and “A PIECE OF SHIT” thats just wrong man. we gotta look out for our shortys and show them something more! remember “Parental Guidance” they are our future ” teach them well-let them lead the way!
u can lead a horse to water but u cant make him drink
its not a bad idea, but its still a sad reality.
Put it like this, would you be cool with Lil Mouse coming to your kid’s class and talking about his music? Mind you Keef’s music is no different than Lil Mouse’. The two are only 4 years apart in age too. Food for thought, gentlemen.
Remember back when u we didn’t have uniforms.. when there was still individuality n self expression allowed in society..? Remember back in tha day when there wasnt any chief keefs.. all we used to listen to was Pac .. what’s going on people… This world fell off …
Why does it seem to that only “African American’s” are the only race stuck while other races from all over the world yet thrive here ? Some from 3rd world countries. Is it because of slavery..? Is the whole race damaged goods..? I think every race was in slavery by another race at some point in time yet seem to bounce back.. look at the Jews.. is it really about color or content? No hate just a thought of mine.
I believe a most white folks in the new generations have a tremendous respect towards black folks & their struggles.. but do they trust them? No
im just saying i don’t think the teacher was glorifying the lyrics! she even says i like the beat not the lyrics and asks the kids what do they like about it! i think if they gonna listen to it anyway why not make it a discussion? parents need to do the same ask questions! get involved
What the teacher is doing is not wrong. Also, keep in mind that this is a 2 min clip so we don’t know what happened for the rest of the class, or the week, or the year. I’m not saying what was done was good, but we don’t know either way. But from what I see she’s meeting the kids at their level and trying to get them to think about and explain why they like the song and specific parts of the song and why they like those parts. I’m a teacher, and that’s good teaching. Just getting kids engaged is difficult.
It is sad that the kids’ “level” is Chief Keef. It is this way because the oppressors (who happened to be white) engineered policies and social conditions (the first one being hereditary slavery based on physical appearance) that screwed the minds of a whole sub-culture of people (who happened to be black).
I’m a black teacher that just got finished teaching at a pre-dominantly black school and everything HU said is exactly what I saw and thought. I wouldn’t say I feel like there’s no hope, but it was definitely disheartening. And I wasn’t even in a big city.
@1996 What you say is true. Kids from other cultures do seem to excel at higher rate. And some are from 3rd world countries. But a lot of those kids are from African countries and they don’t resemble the American Negroes or Amerigroes or Negricans? at all. In fact, kids say the African kids act white! So its not the content of the “race” holding Amerigroes back. How long do you think it takes for an oppressed people to bounce back within the society they were oppressed in for centuries? Negricans are barely one generation out of oppression so its no wonder so many still bear the scars of it. I’m curious what race you are? If you’re not black, what you just put out there was the very definition of racism. I don’t think you’re racist, and honestly its a logical speculative thought as long as you are under the illusion that we are different “races”. We are all the same race so…
@Deez Nutz I think you’re reacting that because you feel like HU’s comments were somehow directed at you because you resemble the oppressors, but he’s not talking about you. But you have to acknowledge “white people” created a certain momentum that I think still hasn’t slowed as much as we like to think. And yes, blaming white people won’t fix problems. Actual action has to take place. But just keep in mind, when a “black” person laments something like this, they aren’t talking about you personally.
Excellent post. I was checking constantly this weblog and I’m impressed! Extremely helpful information specially the ultimate part 🙂 I take care of such info much. I used to be looking for this certain info for a long time. Thank you and best of luck.
