Video: John Monopoly & Jay Boogie Talk Chicago Hip-Hop History

During a recent encounter in Los Angeles, two legends of Chicago Hip-Hop, John Monopoly and Jay Boogie, reminisce on the ‘golden era’ of rap music in the city. In fact, John John got his first opportunity in the biz back in the early 90s working with Jay Boogie and Da Brat. Here, the OGs loosely discuss those early days, and how they’ve come full circle in 2012, working with some of the Chi’s new budding talent. This is a true history lesson.
