I think this is really interesting and inspiring. Although I’m from New York, I agree with you in the sense… Chicago has more than enough struggling beatmakers, that are extremely talented(but yet undiscovered…). It’s time to stop reaching out to other cities and give this great City the voice it needs to say the Midwest has its own style… Some people might say that is the exact purpose and soul of art(to be freely inspired by anything that really touches you), but I’ve seen and met ALOT of Artists out of the Chi that sound like NOTHING I’ve ever heard before. I’m loving the FSD Beats idea… I’d really love to see a place on FSD for recording artists to reach out to independent filmmakers(like myself) who are looking to network with new talent(and vice versa)…
