FSD Beats sets out to build awareness of Chicago’s top up-and-coming producers — something we have an abundance of. No need to seek other cities for your sound, we have the cream of the crop right here.
We’ll be offering up new instrumentals from rising producers weekly — free of charge — for you to rock over (and so you’ll stop rapping over “From The Bottom”). If you like what you hear, please reach out to the beatsmiths to inquire about how you can work with them in the future. Got it? Utilization is key.
A product of the 80s, born and raised on the south side of Chicago in the Roseland area, The General was introduced to hip-hop at a very young age. With a brother six years his senior, General would steal his tapes and listen to them repeatedly. His collection ranged from Spice 1, NWA and 2pac, to Twista, UGK and Biggie. These various artists and their unique styles inspired the variety in his production style.
On top of flexing his production muscle, General is a member of the group The SmArtists alongside his rapping counterpart, Kol Khaviar (@KolKhaviar). General has produced songs for Nicholaus Kane (“Flirty Girl”) and Agacee (“Chillin And Relaxin”) as well as a few other local artists. Check out his freebie beat, “Money Money,” below.
