XXL’s Freshmen class for the 2013 edition of the Freshmen 10 cover leaked just a few hours ago and prompted XXL go ahead and unleash the official cover/list. The Windy had eight of it’s own as candidates for the cover, but Chief Keef made the ’13 class as ‘The 11th Freshman’. We’re not too sure how or why Keef earned the ‘The 11th Freshman’ spot, but XXL promises to elaborate in the coming days and weeks.
Sidenote: Guess XXL’s inclusion in the title of this video makes sense now, huh?

They just added Keef cuz they seen how Chicago went off last night about it thats all! I still think its bullshit, Chicago had a major impact on hip-hop the past year and the freshman cover fails to acknowledge that, not to say the ones on the cover dont deserve it, but the freshman list this year seems like a left over list of a few people that should of been on it last year instead of some of the rappers they chose. Tree should of definitely been on this list hands down!
Gbe had a better 2012 than 90% of this list, Trinidad James + Travis Scott been putting out garbage, chance put out a classic + he’ll body 75% of these niggas lyrically, king l got a buzz these niggas can’t touch smh xxl need wake the Fuck up + stop snuffing Chicago
Durk would’ve been better to rep Chicago than Keef
Chance the Rapper > Travis + Logic + Kirko
Chief Keef making the list almost makes me question how much the writers or whoever pick the list base it off talent bc chief Keep is terrible. However I think most of those who made it def deserve it. Logic, Ab-soul, and school boy def do. But what about Chance the Rapper, Earl or Domo??? I think some really deserving rappers got snubbed from the list this year.
