Derrick Rose received one heck of a homecoming this afternoon, as adidas took over the entire United Center to celebrate the launch of Derrick’s new #DRose4 sneaker. Nearly 5,000 kids from local area high schools and community groups filled up the UC to watch the return of Chicago’s prodigal son. The celebration was hosted by Leon Rogers and Tony Sculfield, and included a performance from adidas repper and Detroit player, Big Sean, who ran through a couple of his hits for the packed house.
Derrick addressed the crowd and thanked adidas and the Bulls for such a ceremony, and afterward he judged dunk contest featuring high school students from across the nation. Benny the Bull dunked, there was a three-point shoot out and the Lova-Bulls did a few routines. All in all it was a great day, and adidas spared no expense. The return is real.
The #DRose4’s go on sale October 10th and can be purchased over at the adidas.com site. Hit the jump to see more pics.
