Joey Purp – iiiDrops
Purp quietly dropped his debut project, The Purple Tape, in the summer of 2012. Purp was dope as hell back then, but the best news is that he’s only gotten better since. He’s aging like fine wine and he’s killing everything that moves as far as features are concerned. He’s promised to give us iiiDrops before the year closes out, which should earn him a spot within the upper echelon of the top Chicago artists. He can out-rap most, now it’s time to prove he can craft a full album. He’s getting some production help from THEMPeople and Thelonious Martin, and there’s no doubt his SaveMoney brethren will be along for the ride. Keep an eye on this one.
