Video: Chance The Rapper on 106 & Park

Posted on October 28, 2013 by Andrew Barber

This is rather monumental. Because seriously, when is the last time you saw a 100% indie artist on 106 & Park in this capacity? I would have to answer never. Complex covers, 106 & Park appearances — all with no major cosign or deal in place? This is truly a new era, where an artist can take control of his own destiny and create his own opportunities. And there’s no better living, working example than Chance The Rapper.

A few hours ago, Chance made his 106 debut with Bow Wow, and it’s hilarious, entertaining and engaging all in one. I watched it alongside the rest of Chicago twitter, and believe most of us were laughing out loud. He kept it all the way Chance, with no frills. Obama crewneck, Myspace poses, SaveMoney shout outs. Yep, it was all there. Oh, and he asked Bow Wow if he could call him “Bow.” Just click play, you won’t be disappointed.
