King Louie “Michael Jordan”
Despite the recent Yeezus look, King Louie may still be the most slept on (by mainstream channels) rapper right now. He has the overflowing output of a mixtape Wayne or Gucci, so there end up being these troves of amazing Louie songs (and potential hits) that tend to get drowned out by his own unrelenting quality and quantity. It almost feels like the prolific nature of his work keeps the masses (even though he has a number of videos with close to a million views) from latching on as much as they could.
“Michael Jordan” was able to transcend this trend in his work, despite being a part of 30 other releases that month—and the whole damn thing just seems so easy for him. He sounds and looks as though he could rap while asleep (with your very own girl beside him, of course), and he’d still come up with shit like that “emoji” line, which should have gone triple platinum by itself.
