Video: Chance The Rapper – Social Experiment

Posted on December 14, 2013 by Andrew Barber

How does Chance cap off the best year ever? No, seriously, like how do you close out such a phenomenal 365 days? Well, for starters, the year isn’t even over yet — so I’m guessing there’s still more to come before 2013 wraps up. But with only five dates left on his Social Experiment Tour, Chano wanted to bless his family, friends and supporters with a quick documentary and behind the scenes look into his first-ever headlining cross country tour. This Social Experiment clip mainly focuses on his two sold out shows in Chicago, which were attended by his entire inner circle (including both his Grandmothers), and the people who were there from the very beginning.

If there’s anything to take away from Chance’s ascension this year, it’s that he did it organically. With a very small budget, a close knit team, great decisions, incredible music and A LOT of hard work, he was able to make his dreams come true, and make the industry come to him. But most importantly, it was the fans who helped make this moment happen. And this video is dedicated to them.

Says Chance:

With little budget, experience or time for preparation, the team and I put together this #SocialExperiment Tour 2013. My first Tour. 43 shows. 18 person crew. 4 piece band. 1 Tour bus. 1 raw ass RV. This video represents positivity, love, friendship, musicianship, support and a whole lot of hard work. Big thanks and a Merry Xmas to every single person that made this possible, and everyone else who supported me like crazy this year.

– Chance

PS: SOCIAL EXPERIMENT COMING SOON

Yep, you heard it here first. Lookout for “Social Experiment” in the very near future.
