Tokyo Shawn – Wave Theory
Tokyo Shawn just might be the most eccentric member of the SaveMoney family — and that’s saying a lot. He’s not exactly their Ol Dirty Bastard, but he does stand out as one of the most unique minds in the Chicago music scene. Shawn didn’t drop a project in 2013, but he did release two spectacular records with “I Know You” and “World Turning” featuring Joey Purp. From the sound of things, Wave Theory, will have pop appeal with a backpacker flair, so expect this to me one of the more adventurous efforts of 2014. It will be experimental and genre bending, but done in a cool fashion — just like Shawn himself.
