Video: Common & Dreezy Discuss “Chi-Raq” On WGCI

Posted on April 15, 2014 by Andrew Barber

Last week, Nicki Minaj and Lil Herb definitely shook things up when they dropped their collaborative effort, “Chi-Raq.” The song was quite polarizing, as many thought the song was exploitive on Nicki’s part. Others thought the joint was simply a good look for Herb. Either way, everyone felt some type of way about it.

After “Chi-Raq” dropped a flood of “Chi-Raq” freestyles hit the inbox, with dozens of emcees setting out to tackle the track. Katie Got Bandz made a whole lot of noise with her version, while FM Supreme turned around the track and took aim at Nicki on it.

One of the most noteworthy versions of “Chi-Raq” came from rising female Chicago emcee Dreezy, who grabbed a ton of new fans with her rendition. The track even grabbed Common’s attention, so much in fact that he brought Dreezy up to 107.5 WGCI to discuss the track and Dreezy’s version with UB Rodriguez.
