Mick Jenkins has had quite the breakout 2014. The “Martyrs” video dropped at the tail end of 2013, and helped pique the world’s interest of Mr. Jenkins. The dope music kept rolling out, and Mick’s fanbase grew exponentially. History shows that artists with a lot of substance are grossly overlooked, so it’s truly amazing to see Mick getting the accolades he deserves. Hardly any artists touch on the topics Mick addresses, and “Treat Me” is no exception. Paired with Supa Bwe, this joint was a homerun that touched on some real subjects — stuff most rappers are scared to talk about.
