FSD Feature: Chicago Summer Records We Loved In 2014

A list by Matt Albin (@malbin34)

Summer in Chicago will always supply you with these three things: unpredictable weather, many losses from the Chicago Cubs and a boatload of great new music. Summer 2014 was no different, as we were hit with an influx of music from both veterans and emerging stars. Chicago was able to provide the world with quality conscious tracks, some dope drill joints, and breakout singles from familiar stars and new artists alike.

It’s hard to keep up with everything that dropped this summer, so use this list as a cheat sheet for a few of the dope tracks that were released, as well as catching up on songs you might have slept-on. The good news is that the Chi is showing no signs of falling off anytime soon, as this was yet another stellar season for new music.

* List is in no particular order.
* One song per lead artist.
* April through Labor Day
