FSD Feature: Chicago Summer Records We Loved In 2014

Posted on September 10, 2014 by FSD Staff

King Louie – Live & Die In Chicago

Front to back, King Louie’s Tony mixtape might be the best project in his discography. It’s debatable. “Live & Die In Chicago” is the project’s standout, and has Louie speaking on the current problems plaguing the Chi, as well as his loyalty to the city. The song has been bubbling since Tony dropped, but after Drake sang a medley featuring the song during his Chicago stop on the Drake Vs. Lil Wayne tour, the record has hit a fever pitch.

It’s catchy, poignant and such a fitting song given the current state of affairs throughout the country. This record could actually be Louie’s defining record.
