YP – Winner’s Circle
YP had been MIA for a minute, but to wrap up summer, he dropped off his Backwood Jones project seemingly out of nowhere. The exquisite opus features the likes of Rockie Fresh, King Louie, Twista, and others, but the project’s solo introduction “Winner’s Circle” set the tone for the whole album. The piano-laced track, done by HD Beatz, set the tone for the whole mixtape and features YP spitting some of the realest bars we’ve heard from him. YP has had a heartbreaking year, but definitely found comfort in his rhymes. And this project is proof of that.
