Bump’s Chicagorilla marked the first time an artist from Chicago connected with DJ Drama for a Gangsta Grillz mixtape and it’s still one of the best out of the 60+ in the series. The mixtape followed Bump’s Welcome To Grimeyville Vol. 2 and found the Goon Squad general proving once again why he was someone you should’ve been paying attention to.
The twenty-track mixtape included the OG version of “Hustlin'” (which Bump had before Rick Ross) and featured scene stealing verses from Sly Polaroid and Kanye West on “Top This”. It’s hard to pick a favorite from the tape for me, but it would have to be “Catch ‘Em, Rob ‘Em” or “I Gots To Have That” if I had to. As DJ Drama would say, this was quality street music.
