Each year, it becomes harder and harder to sort through and spot new (and actually good) talent down at SXSW. What with the same five artists playing every showcase, and whale-bloated bills, sometimes makes it hard to find something new that you actually dig. Well, Saturday night I caught Allan Kingdom at the #SXSWTakeover Show at ACL Live and I was overly impressed. Now, I know Allan has a lot of hype surrounding him thanks to his feature on Kanye’s “All Day,” but this kid really is a star in his own right.
His live show is polished, his words cut through the muffled theater, and the production and soundscapes he’s chosen shook the building. He sold me. Check out his brand new release underneath. Take it EZ.
