On The Set: Ty Money – Ricky Killa

Posted on August 24, 2015 by Andrew Barber

Recently, our homie Ty Money took a trip out West to shoot the video for his gripping new single, “Ricky Killa.” Seriously, it’s one of the dopest thematic joints of recent memory. The track tells the tale of Ricky’s killer from Boyz N The Hood. Sure, we know what happened to Ricky at the end of the movie, but what about the guy who actually pulled the trigger, derailing Ricky’s fast track to football stardom? Where did fate take him? Did the karma bank come looking for him for a withdrawal? Well, that’s where Ty steps in.

Not only does Ty resemble the actual triggerman in the film, but he made the video even more authentic by venturing to the famed Jungle in Compton, California to shoot the clip. And they welcomed Ty into the neighborhood with open arms.

If you missed the song, we strongly suggest you give it a spin below. We’ve also included a handful of shots from the set as well, courtesy of Alex G, Benjamin Michel
and Michael Nikol.

Also, don’t miss Ty at our upcoming show with Red Bull Sound Select at Bottom Lounge on September 16th. You can RSVP for that show now for $3 right here.
