FSD: What were some of your musical influences coming up in Milwaukee and how did those help shape the sound of your music?
BANKX: Some musical influences coming up were mostly old school artists, one partically that played a big part was female artist Sade, might sound hard to believe but the way she sung and melodized on her beats always got to me and made me wanna start melodizing. but other then that early Travis $cott & The weeknd played apart in my music, helping me develop my sound.
FSD: Where do you see yourself in the Milwaukee hip hop scene and how do you feel about the music coming out of the city currently?
BANKX: I see myself as one of the faces of the Milwaukee rap scene, its great because im only 18 and have much more to come for my city as in music wise & putting on. The music coming out of the city is great, I love it actually, so many dope artists coming out with amazing singles.
FSD: What do you hope people will take away from your upcoming project and your music overall?
BANKX: With my upcoming project coming, basically I just hope people see the type of person I am, what I went through & what it took to get here but mostly I want people feeling good when they listen to my music, like I want my music to be the type of music that can change someone for the better, mood wise & as a person.
FSD: What would you say has been your favorite moment or highlight of your career so far?
BANKX: My favorite highlight of my career would have to be when I got a call from a big artist, not gonna say who, yet haha but the feeling of knowing people you look up to actually fucks with your music & looks up to you also is crazy, real good feeling.
BANKX’ debut project is set to be released sometime later this year. I strongly suggest keeping it and the Milwaukee native on your radar.
