XXL Magazine Does Not Care About Chicago

XXL Magazine just released the cover(s) for their December issue which features their (now) annual series of the “Top 10 Freshman” or “Hip Hop’s Class of ’09”, which I take to indiacte the most buzzing young gunners in the industry.  If you’ll remember, last year the cover featured the likes of Lupe Fiasco, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I and Plies.

This year not one single Chicago artist is featured on this three version cover.  Wale, Asher Roth, Charles Hamilton, Blu, Kid Cudi, Curren$y, Mickey Factz, B.o.B. Cory Gunz and Ace Hood all received the gusto this year.

What do you guys think?  Were there any “new” (at least on a national level) Chicago artists who were buzzworthy enough to grace the cover of the esteemed mag, or do you think all 10 of these new jacks are more deserving?  I think you know how I feel, and if it was up to me, there would probably be 5 or 6 guys from the ‘Go on here.  But I guess I’m biased.

Did Chi City deserved to be shut out like this?  Does this cover matter?  Why is water wet? I just kind of thought we’d have at least one cat on there.
