In a rather interesting interview with Vibe.com where Twista opens up about Waka Flocka, Raekwon and his classic album Adrenaline Rush; T revealed that after his contract expired with Atlantic, he approached Kanye West about joining the G.O.O.D. Music stable. B.A.D. idea?
Amen to that. Speaking of Kanye West, was there ever talks of you signing with G.O.O.D. Music? Seems like it’d be a natural fit.
I actually wanted to at one point. But I don’t know what time of vibe Kanye had with me at that time. He was in New York recording, this is when he was working on “Stronger,” around that time. I mentioned that I would be getting out of my [Atlantic Records] contract and wondered if he wanted to jump down. But I don’t know, I guess it wasn’t a good idea for him at the time. But he should’ve done it. He would’ve had the “Wetter” joint [Laughs].
Very interesting, indeed. It would’ve been dope to have seen Twista, Common and Kanye together on the same team (and when are we gonna get that long overdue Common and Twista collab?), but do you think Twista fits that G.O.O.D. Music mold?
But remember at one time, it was Roc-A-Fella y’all for both. Remember them days?
Twista in the G.O.O.D. Music fold would be a very interesting collabo, but not a good one. I mean yes I would love to see him on a track with ‘Ye and Common, G.O.O.D. Music and Twista are two totally different spaces musically. If Twista stops trying to relive his “Adrenline Rush” for those hardcore fans days then moves on I would say he has a better chance. I mean look at Mos Def, I liked “Black On Both Sides” but “The Ecstatic” showed growth and maturity that makes him a great fit for G.O.O.D. Music, Pusha T lyrics are so fluid and descriptive that it shows promise for G.O.O.D. Music just like Chyi Da Prince and Common.
Twista doesn’t fit that mold at all. He is more street than that scene. Common coincides with that movement more. But to be honest I feel like Common shouldn’t be on GOOD music either. I think he should create his own label and get his own set of artists also. Common has been around for some time and I think he should be doing more than what he is on the music side. Who has he brought in and assisted on the music side of things? Nobody. It would be dope if he started his own label like Kanye and Twista have.
Both dem niggaz is faggots perfect fit, an for da record twista ain’t got a street or hardcore bone in his body an rawl a dick sucker ask da roc
^Hater Alert. Disgruntled rapper Alert!
WELL IF KANYE GUIDES/DECIDES FOR TWISTA WHAT SONGS SHOULD BE DONE AND HOW, HE CAN FIT BUT IF HE AIN’T HAVE DIRECTION, TWISTA IS LOST IN THE SAUCE LIKE HE HAS BEEN FOREVER. I DOUBT COMMON COULD RUN A LABEL ON HIS OWN AND HE SEEMS MORE FOCUSED ON ACTING THESE DAYS ANYWAY, TOO BAD HE’S NOT THAT GREAT OF AN ACTOR.
Apples n oranges. Kanye doesn’t fit chicago scene at all. Who in Chicago wears tight leather pants, tight low cut tees, n acts like a lil sissy? Clark street?
dem Halsted heeshees. but anyways, Cavalier be on that street life and would never be tamed like Ye got them boys on now with that rosewood. Twista would never comply with that, and since his shit with CWAL & Atlantic so many deals ago, he’s been like the amber rose of the game, diddy didn’t bite down, dame was whoring it but never ringing it, and yeah, if I was in Kanye’s space back then I’d be hesitant as well. it’s all business @ 5pm.
All these niggaz is mad trash man. I mean I ain’t even hatin all dat much, but real talk tho, when was the last time these dudes was in the hood? Twists ain’t even hood no mo, him callin out all the cliques and shit on his songs don’t mean shit. and kanye always talk about he represent chi town, but dude be sittin in on NY Knicks game when I ain’t ever seen his ass at a Bulls game. chi town ain’t Hollywood nigga, we keeps it real. I wouldn’t even be sayin this shit if niggas actually represented the hood like they do in their tracks
^^^^Agreed. I’m not from the there, I’m outta Houston, but I was thinking that same thing.
