5. Ignorance
Ever since Jay-Z said “Ya shit is garbage, what you trying to kick knowledge” the flood gates of ignorance have opened to never be shut again. Once I got out of the hip-hop business, and into the rap business, my main goal as a rapper is to say the most humorous, ignorant shit that I could think of. I did this in hopes of my fellow ignorant niggas around the globe tweeting and repeating what I said early and often. Art imitates life, and why would anyone surrounded by negativity want anything to do with a conscious rapper? Why would kids that don’t have decent music programs in school want to hear live instrumentation from rap producers?
The shit does not make sense, so if you plan on changing the game in that way, you had better plan on changing the world’s of those fans that you want to target — otherwise your message will, without a doubt, fall on deaf ears.
