FSD: For those that are unaware, tell the people how you ended up on the tour of the summer, Drake’s Club Paradise Tour.
Zae: My guy Cordero– he’s Waka’s cameraman. I do a lot of Wooh Da Kid’s videos, and a lot of behind the scenes stuff for him. Wooh was coming to Gary, IN, and my guy asked me “Do you want to link up with Wooh?” So I just did some concert footage, and Wooh said he was feeling my work. He said “Next time you in Atlanta, let’s shoot some videos.” So I got real close with the Brick Squad family, and it went from there.
FSD: What do you actually do on the tour?
Zae: Basically recording behind the scenes footage.
FSD: Are you working exclusively with Waka on the tour?
Zae: Yeah, but I do have footage of everybody else–Like 2 Chainz. Me and him have a real good relationship. I was doing stuff for him right before Codeine Cowboy. I still to this day have a personal relationship with him, where I talk to him on the phone. He just called me the day after he left Chicago, and told me how he rocked with my footage that I shot of him at Adrianna’s.
FSD: What’s some of the biggest things you’ve learned while being on such a highly successful tour?
Zae: Just stay humble, and be yourself. Don’t overdue things to fit in.
FSD: I’ve noticed your unique style of shooting gritty landscapes, when did you discover your niche?
Zae: Once I kept shooting videos all the time, and found out my videos looked different, then I knew. Everybody tries to shoot the same things and edits on the same thing, so I just looked for things to be different.

I’m not tryin to hate on dude, but everyone now a days think they can film. Just bc pple go pick up a canon 7d and shoot, everyone think they can be a director. I guarantee if you ask any wannabe “director” in the city about their composition of shots and/or frame rate, iso, lighting etc, none of these dudes would have a clue.
