Interview by Alex Russell (@andfeedingyou)
Sasha Go Hard has been her own manager thus far, and with little-to-no help has primed herself for stardom. She certainly fills the necessary criteria: consistent rapper in various styles, unmistakably raw, plus fly as fuck. And with no major backing, has already headlined two shows in New York City (no small feat for anyone in the know) and various concerts in Chicago.
I recently got a chance to speak with her about what the present and future looks like for her — and believe it’s bright. New projects, high-profile collaborations, and an unwavering work ethic predict big moves for the Low End native. Read and discover why they will get exponentially more mad. Are they still mad?
Yeah, they definitely is. They getting madder.
Describe the average Sasha Go Hard hater.
Let me see…the one that will mention me and show me love and salute me will be my biggest hater. Haha, I like your questions already.
How d0 you come up with your ad-libs?
When I first recorded, I kind of, like, fell in love with my voice, even though I used to hate my voice when I was younger. I had fell in love with hearing it in the studio. So, when they told me to do my ad-libs, I think I was like “aaaaaaaahhhh,” because someone made me laugh, I didn’t know what ad-libs was at first. Once I said it, I was like damn, I like this. I like how it sounds. I kept sayin’ it.
You refer to your resumé in some of your songs. What would be on your resumé right now if you were applying for a job?
Grinding. I love to grind. I like working with real people, people that’s 100. I like just doing the best. I aim for the best.
I think that would work.
Yeah.
