FSD Feature: Johnny P’s 15 Best Features

Posted on September 25, 2013 by FSD Staff

4. Do or Die f/ Johnny P “Playa Like Me & You” (1996)

Once “Po Pimp” swept the nation, Do or Die had established a distinct and very unique sound. Partly thanks to Traxster’s production, but Johnny P also played a massive role helping the Chicago sound pop. His hooks were the glue that held this movement together, and “Playa Like Me & You” was the perfect follow up to the smash hit, “Po Pimp.” It was an extension of the sound, and ushered us into a new era of Chi rap.

One track that should be on the list if it wasn’t so hard to find is Do or Die’s “Playa Like Me and You (Remix)” They used to play that on WGCI back then. Danny Boy was on that too alongside Johnny P.
