7. Kit – Lownt God Rising
Kit first hit our radar last summer with his extraterrestrial New Wavey, and came back twice as hard — and twice as spaced out — on 2014’s Lownt God Rising. Never mind the title, it’s no surprise as to why Kit’s status is quickly rising amongst the Chicago and national scene. Having joined forces with Supreme Cuts, Lownt God Rising, is one of the most unique releases of 2014 — and the most consistent.
The project is a healthy mix of eerie slow rollers, and full-fledged ratchet riot-inciters like “Steve Kerr.” Well planned and well executed.
