2012 has been a great year for Chicago Hip-Hop. Some of our local stars have inked major label deals and garnered national acclaim, but most importantly we’ve grabbed the eyes and ears of music listeners all over the country. Today, I have compiled a list of events that I believe have made an impact in not only Chicago– but nationally as well.
There have been a slew of headlines that have reached the masses in 2012, but I wanted to highlight 10 of the most talked about events so far. Good or bad, these water cooler stories kept Chicago the “it” city in music this year.
