FSD: First off, congrats on the “Nobody” video being so well received.
Nem: Thanks man. Today I was actually out doing some location scouting for Rockie’s next video. We wanted to jump right back into it and keep the creativity flowing.
FSD: Sounds good. Were you scouting for visuals for Electric Highway or Rockie’s debut album?
Nem: For Electric Highway right now. I’m not sure if you’ve heard anything, but the project is sounding really really good man.
FSD: Yeah that’s what I keep hearing. You also directed Rockie’s “Into The Future” video and that was quite visually appealing. Can we expect you to be shooting the majority of Rockie’s videos from now on?
Nem: Well, he (Rockie) can have anybody he wants at this point. They really love my work and it’s pretty awesome. Rockie’s one of the first artists to have trust in me with whatever. It’s kind of like a do you and I’ll do me type of thing now. We have a mutual respect for each other’s work.
FSD: Are you working with any other artists now?
Nem: Oh yeah, of course. Whenever some things get finalized we’ll get started on some other projects, but I’m always down to work. This is my life man. I honestly don’t do anything else but what I do for a living. This is my life and my work together.
FSD: Definitely. I read that you’ve been into film and design for quite a while now. How’d you get your start?
Nem: I graduated from Lane Tech back in 04’ and that’s actually where I kind of got my start. I started out just by creating web sites for rap bands around school. I’m not sure if you’re familiar with flash animation, but I used to create flash websites for kids at my high school and restaurants and other small projects like that. From that I started to get more into animation and design. I also have a background in business advertising so it all kind of just worked out.
