I Am A God
Though Kanye has previously alluded to being God-like before (see the video for “Power”), he finally comes out and openly states it on Yeezus. This blows the lid off the “swag arms race” because instead of staying limited to bragging about Maybachs and Basquiats, Kanye comes out and straight up puts himself on the level of deities.
This is the third track on the album, and the song ends with Kanye screaming and running from his demons. It’s at this point in Yeezus when the whole album starts to feel like a performance, and this is just the end of Act 1.
