8. Treated Crew – Treated Tribe
The Treated Crew is more than a crew — they’re an army. Back in 2012 they dropped their stellar debut as a group, Treated, but took 2013 off to focus on other ventures. Returning with a bang for the 2014, the colonel Mano decided to take a different approach to the album. So instead of it being a group project, it’s more of a compilation — letting the lot of the Treated Crew members have solo songs or feature on posse cuts. It’s a wide array of flavors and styles, with no two crew members sounding alike. A perfect exercise in showcasing the known members, as well as the rising stars.
The project also served as promo for their super dope clothing release with Stussy, making this a full blown marketing campaign — and a perfect rollout for each of Treated’s forthcoming solo projects.
