TekLife & Treated Crew – Live From Yo Momma’s House
Given Chicago’s illustrious and deep-rooted history with house, juke and footworking, you’d think more Chi rappers would be blending the two. Its actually happened less than you’d imagine — but two crews are keeping this dream alive: TekLife and Treated Crew. Yes, the Treated Crew has always been loyal to this sound, as in fact, one of Mic Terror’s biggest tracks was the classic “Juke Them Hoes.”
So Treated and production/footwork crew TekLife have joined forces for a brand new EP titled, Live From Yo Momma’s House, which sets out to blend the best of both worlds. Hopefully, the attention this project will garner will help hip the rest of the planet to what’s going on (and what’s been happening here) locally with these two sounds.
