Vic Mensa – Traffic
Truth be told, Vic Mensa was the first of this new generation on the scene. Hell, we’ve been posting about Mr. Mensa since 2008-2009. He’s earned his stripes and paid his dues three times over. So there’s probably no other artist more deserving of his recent success than Vic. He was due, and earned every single ounce of it. So it’s no surprise that quite a few high profile OGs have stepped in to work with the soon-to-be-superstar. Everyone from Kanye West to Jay Z to Beyonce have been singing Vic’s praises.
2013’s Innanetape was nothing short of a masterpiece, but even more eyes and attention are surrounding Vic for the release of his new album, Traffic. His sound has evolved, and instead of jazz-infused rap, he’s now making stadium music. Evolution at its finest. And we have a feeling this is only the beginning.
