13. Twista & Do or Die – Withdrawal
Twista and Do or Die. Two legendary Chicago factions that are synonymous with each other. While the current crop of Chicago stars were barely babies, Twista and Do or Die were the face of Chicago hip-hop. Two of the first acts to break out of the city nationally, and show just exactly what the Midwest could do. From “Po Pimp” to Adrenaline Rush, these two acts defined an era, and thankfully are both still active in the industry.
So it was only right they connected, finally, to craft a collabo project. Even if it came 20 years after you first heard them together. Better late than never, right? Our only gripe with Withdrawal was the absence of Traxster — the man behind the beats of their defining career records. But we still thoroughly enjoyed the EP, and hope they continue their collaborative efforts. Who knows, they might even bring Johnny P along for the ride next time.
