Everybody’s Something
One of the more boom-bap beats Chano goes in over, and he manages to handle himself splendidly over it. It gives off his more angrier tone while still cleverly getting his message and thoughts across to his audience. Chance explains the common, everyday struggle in inner morality. The fight between whats good and what’s bad, what a man wants most and what he sees as injustice and evil hidden inside.
While fitting in complicated rhyme schemes involving Cinnabons, he also generates an array of emotions describing violence. He even goes into a set of the most metaphorical bars of his career to describe his entrapment in his current situation:
But gravity had me up in a submission hold
Like I’m dancing with the Devil with two left feet and I’m pigeon toed
In two small point ballet shoes with a missing sole
And two missing toes
With a hook so melodic, yet deep enough to carry a message of “We’re not alone,” why wouldn’t this be one of his top tracks? Another young Chi City talent, Saba from Pivot Gang, adds a verse about the city to perfectly compliment the track, and all in all it helps carry Acid Rap through the middle stretch of the project.
