Acid Rap One Year Later

Posted on April 30, 2014 by FSD Staff

Paranoia

The world knows about Chicago, but with “Paranoia,” they truly met Chicago. To fully understand this track you have to know the “Chiraq” ways. The feeling of losing a friend you called up an hour ago, or that one cousin you were supposed to link up with later this week. The constant senseless violence that engulfs bright, promising futures. Chance knows this all too well with the lose of close friends Kevin Ambrose and Rodney.

You can hear a saddened plea for help in Chano’s voice, as emphasized in the lines below. The sharp change from wondering where is the help, to getting mad at the lack of support shows the growing concern that should be taken very seriously over this impending crisis:

Where the fuck is Matt Lauer at? Somebody get Katie Couric in here

Probably scared of all the refugees; look like we had a fuckin’ hurricane here

They’ll be shooting whether it’s dark or not, I mean the days is pretty dark a lot

Down here, it’s easier to find a gun than it is to find a fucking parking spot
