SD – Truly Blessed

Before GBE split into different factions like Glo Gang and Savage Squad, loyal crew member SD was always their secret weapon. He continuously dropped solid songs and sleeper mixtapes, but higher profile members like Lil Reese, Fredo Santana and Chief Keef overshadowed the underrated rapper. Well, showing and proving on his official debut album (with actual physical albums on shelves), SD dropped the best GBE-related project since Keef’s 2012 album, Finally Rich. It’s everything drill should sound like in 2014.

If Keef would’ve turned this album into Interscope, Bang 3 would probably be on shelves right now. It’s the perfect mix of intensity, melody and weirdness. It’s the eerie successor to drill and the obvious elevation of the subgenre. SD won. We just hope it doesn’t fall on deaf ears.
