11. Slum Village f/ Kanye West & John Legend “Selfish” (2004)
Album: Detroit Deli
05 Selfish Featuring Kanye West & John Legend
Straight from Kanye’s grown and sexy (do people still say that?) repertoire, we get a sample from Aretha Franklin’s “Call Me.” By this time, Kanye is confident enough in his production skills to call himself the “new version of Pete Rock.” Just a few years later, ‘Ye makes another Pete Rock reference with “…when they reminisce over you, my god” on “Can’t Tell Me Nothin'” in 2007. Of course, just a few years after that, Pete Rock becomes a member of the production supercrew that assembled in Hawaii for Kanye’s fifth album. Then, most recently, Pete Rock production credits ended up on Watch the Throne with “The Joy.” Then they got sued. Happy happy, joy joy.

i’m not reading 26 different pages for what’s spose to be 1 fkin list! greedy bastards just want ad-view money.
I think this is accurate list with the exception of a few tracks( spend the night-marey carey, wouldn’t get far- game, a star is born- jay z )
Too lazy to go through whole list, but Through The Wire should at least be in top 5
Very nice list! Ya’ll shoulda put Camron’s Dead Or Alive, Do Or Die’s Paid the Price, Freeway-Hear The Song.
This track isn’t a Bette Midler sample, they had to recreate it in order to clear. 5iveit
All I know is “Through The Wire” and “Down”(Cam’Ron) are some energetic azz beats
Do Or Die – Higher was one of my favorites
An 88 Keys list would be awesome
