25. Kanye West “We Don’t Care” (2004)
Album: The College Dropout
For many long-time fans, myself included, the first time they listened to a Kanye West album in full, it was College Dropout, and this was the first song. You were about to experience something so cold, so he had to open hard. This track had his fingerprints all over it: pitched-up soul vocals, horns abound, hard drums. He wanted to establish himself as the musician of the people, of the common man, so he starts the album with an anthem dedicated those struggling. Notice, he really doesn’t talk about himself in this one, because he still felt like a part of his audience. The sample comes from The Jimmy Castor Bunch, a cover of the Gino Vannelli song “I Just Wanna Stop.”

i’m not reading 26 different pages for what’s spose to be 1 fkin list! greedy bastards just want ad-view money.
I think this is accurate list with the exception of a few tracks( spend the night-marey carey, wouldn’t get far- game, a star is born- jay z )
Too lazy to go through whole list, but Through The Wire should at least be in top 5
Very nice list! Ya’ll shoulda put Camron’s Dead Or Alive, Do Or Die’s Paid the Price, Freeway-Hear The Song.
This track isn’t a Bette Midler sample, they had to recreate it in order to clear. 5iveit
All I know is “Through The Wire” and “Down”(Cam’Ron) are some energetic azz beats
Do Or Die – Higher was one of my favorites
An 88 Keys list would be awesome
