FSD Feature: 15 Essential Bop Songs

Posted on April 17, 2014 by FSD Staff

DJ Maine f/ Breezy Montana – Cool Too

DJ Maine constructs the epic “Cool Too” with a measured patience. The verses are reserved affairs, with the DJ Nate produced beat hiding under a low pass filter as Maine snaps off lines with a lazy demeanor. But once the pre-chorus hits he snaps into focus as the song begins building tension. All this effort pays off as the song cannonballs into a massive, soaring chorus that layers two hooks so catchy you won’t know which one to sing along too.

Its a double negative with these songs. Kids wanna hear but they don’t seem to make radio versions (at least I haven’t seen many) and you can’t play them where kids go. (Prom, outdoor fest)
