FSD Feature: A Guide To Harold’s Chicken In Hip-Hop

Posted on June 9, 2014 by FSD Staff

808s Plaque

Malik Yusef’s 808s & Heartbreak Plaque At Harold’s (10259 S. Halsted St.) (2010)

If you get a platinum plaque, the manner in which you chose to display it says a lot about your character. Do you really want to hang it in your basement next to that autographed Bryant Reeves Grizzlies jersey where no one ever looks? Or do you give it back to the people? Malik choosing to display his plaque in the Harold’s on 103rd and Halsted is a testament of just how great both Harold’s and Malik are.

“Half-dark special, hot sauce on it.” Trochaic but never prosaic.
