FSD Feature: A Guide To Harold’s Chicken In Hip-Hop

Posted on June 9, 2014 by FSD Staff

Wale – That Way (2011)

“We spend some time and get some wine, have some milds from Harold’s”

The next line is “I told her this here’s overrated,” which lead people to think Wale was dissing the Chicken King (which he lightweight was.) Wale performed this joint in Chicago shortly after it dropped and was subsequently booed. However, Wale has since explained he meant fried chicken as a whole is overrated. That makes no sense to me, but some people think cucumbers taste better pickled so I don’t know.

“Half-dark special, hot sauce on it.” Trochaic but never prosaic.
