FSD Feature: 20 Dope Songs In Chicago-New York Collaboration History

Posted on August 27, 2014 by FSD Staff

Da Brat f/ Biggie & Jermaine Dupri “Da B Side” (1995)

An upcoming third Bad Boys film was recently announced, and it’s strange to think the original came out nearly 20 years ago. That film, of course, was a commercial hit, and it also had an awesome soundtrack. The disc, which since has gone platinum, included three joints that landed on the Billboard Hot R&B / Hip-Hop top 100 chart — and those don’t even include the song featuring 2Pac or the song featuring Biggie Smalls. “Da B Side” by Da Brat, Notorious B.I.G., & Jermaine Dupri is a fresh feel-good tune by icons from Chicago, New York, and Atlanta, respectively. All icons in their own right. Hard to ignore anything including a sample of the Gap Band’s “Outstanding.” Nuff respect to Charlie Wilson.
