Nicki Minaj f/ Lil Herb “Chiraq” (2014)
One of the more cutthroat, surprising and polarizing tracks of 2014, “Chiraq” was a monumental homage to the Chicago’s menacing rap scene lead by Queens-born MC, Nicki Minaj. Nicki laid down an absolutely vicious verse, while Lil Herb guested with a callous chorus and calculated bars.
Many cried afoul, claiming Nicki was exploiting Chicago’s gang and violence problems for her own gain. And while her intentions may be debatable, there’s no argument that this was the biggest look of Lil Herb’s career — one that lead to him gracing the stage of Hot 97’s coveted Summer Jam alongside Ms. Minaj.
It even started a war of freestyles that lead to a beef between Tyga, Lil Durk, The Game and The G Count.
