FSD Feature: 20 Dope Songs In Chicago-New York Collaboration History

Posted on August 27, 2014 by FSD Staff

Kanye West f/ Consequence & Cam’Ron “Gone” (2005)

The spectacular composition of “Gone” contains ten violins, four violas, four cellos, and multiple samplings of Otis Redding’s “It’s Too Late.” Kanye is in legendary form in his two verses, which is complimented by a suave verse from Cam and an eloquent storytelling verse from Consequence. The way the orchestral is changed at the 3:33 song is truly beautiful, and Kanye’s finishing part is timelessly incredible. Now we out in Europe, spending Euros? Perhaps the greatest Kanye verse ever committed to wax.

And who could forget the track went viral in 2013, eight years after its initial release, thanks to a video from a disgruntled employee directed to her boss. Despite never being released as a single it debuted at number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100.
