1. Kanye West “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” (2007)

Album: Graduation

One of his most grandiose tracks, and for this one he says that he took melodic and thematic cues from big rock acts. This one was for the stadium, for at this point he had become the Led Zeppelin of this rap shit. His sound had to match the young producer turned superstar persona. Much of Kanye’s consistent success can be explained by the fact that his sound and persona evolve in parallel, leaving people anticipating the next form like Voltron. Complete with Jeezy ad-libs and Connie Mitchell vocal bits (that sound eerily like a young Chris Brown), this track perfectly complements the image of a graduating bear being shot into outer space.

Even though he sold it, “We Gone Make It” by Jadakiss should’ve been on the list

pretty sure DJ Toomp made “Cant Tell Me Nothing”… it was originally a Jeezy song, whikch is why the ad-lib is there… thats bad, since you have it as his #1 beat… I could be wrong though

The song was produced by kanye AND dj toomp. plus kanye always has a bunch of people do additional vocals and what have you. that does not mean the song was originally for them. he could have had dj toomp take off the ad-libs if he really didnt want it there.

“Live Fast, Die Young” should have made top 5, and it’s not even on the list.
