FSD Feature: 10 Essential Bop Songs Of 2014

Posted on December 10, 2014 by FSD Staff

Stunt Taylor – Flee Amigo

I love “FeFe on the Block”, you love “FeFe on the Block”, we all love “FeFe on the Block”. But maybe it’s time to move on from “Fefe on the Block”. Especially when Stunt Taylor is building as strong a portfolio of music as he did in 2014. Everything he put out expanded and developed his core songwriting strengths but “Flee Amigo” rose above them all by simply being the catchiest. Whether it’s C-Sick’s candy pinball beat, the titular refrain, or Stunt’s wordless “Haaa-ahh-ahhn”s, there are at least three strong hooks going on at almost all times here. Stunt Taylor might be one of Chicago’s most underrated (How does three million YouTube views not result in a record deal of some kind?) but if he keeps this up he won’t be for much longer.

Props to Bop for surviving that time when A$AP Ferg nearly killed it by guesting on the Fiesta remix.

But why isn’t the actual best Bop song of 2014 in this list – Don’t Shoot by Heaven & Lil’ Chris????
